Twenty-three years in the Army and only once he's left does my dad attempt his first marathon!  

Hi, Mealea here!  Most of you know that I come from Cambodia and Mum and Dad adopted me when I was just a baby. CamKids is my favourite charity because it raises money for orphanages in Cambodia to supply things like food and water, schools and medical centres.  

But my brother and I are also at St George's College Junior School and we help schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo, so CamKids has let Dad run for St Joseph's African Aid too!   

I know that you get asked to give money all the time but please give whatever you can, no matter how little, as even a little money goes a long way to help children in Cambodia and the Congo!

The Cambodian Children’s Charity (‘CamKids’) is a development and relief organisation, dedicated to providing direct aid to poor children in Cambodia. Its principal objective is to help children in Cambodia who are either poor or whose parents are not there for them: orphans, street children, children living in poor rural areas and children affected by natural disasters, such as flood or famine. In a country where there is a high rate of child abandonment, it also supports programs to help strengthen vulnerable families and keep them together. CamKids has absolutely no overhead costs as it is run entirely by its Trustees and supporters and receives all of the services and goods it needs, free of charge, from individuals and corporate friends of the charity.
