Story

Greetings Boys, Girls, Colleagues and Friends,

Some of you know me, some of you don't but by the looks of things i've signed myself up for the NY Marathon and I found myself asking why!

It could be:

Because i've spent the last 6 years of my life (and well over 1000 in gym memberships) in a quest to get "ripped" which have subsequently ended with me getting chubbier.

Or because of my eternal quest to "pick up the ladies" and therefore improving my chances by making myself look more interesting and a lot fitter!

Or it could just be that living in New York is boring me senseless and that I need a goal to look forward to!

But what ever it is, I am now running a marathon, not only for myself, but for a wonderful charity that saves the lives of hundreds of people each year. Please check out their website and see what an amazing job they are doing www.rnli.org.uk.

Here is just one example of the fantastic work they do:

So even if you donate a little, every little bit helps!

And to spur you along here are some of the reactions of friends when I told them i was running the marathon:

"Heart Attack?" Sam Oakley (Wales)

"Is this some sort of sick joke?" Nicholas Andrew (Eton F.A.G.)

"He couldn't finish a snickers, let alone a marathon!!" Tim Bailey (Hull)

"As If!" Alex Dawson

"Couldn't run a bath!"   Max Dawson (Liverpool)

"There's no way that fat robbing scouser will even start the race, he'll be too busy raiding the runners lockers for valuables" Jamie "Beefy" Fleming (Essex)

"There's nooooooooooooo way you can do it, it takes like personal trainers like 5 hours or something?" Clare Cavanagh (Scotland)

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
