GRENFELL BENEFIT AT BUSH HALL
All funds raised from the ticket sales, raffle draw and silent auction will go directly to where it’s most needed; at the heart of the neighbourhood, supporting two community charities, The Harrow Club and Edward Woods Community Centre. Both were already vital facilities for the Latimer community, providing youth provision through arts, education and sport, but since the disaster they have turned into a lifeline for those affected by the Grenfell tragedy, have pooled their resources, both financial and physical and been on the ground since the night of the fire helping the local communities.
They have visited with the families in hotels, seen first-hand how aid is not reaching many survivors, provided much needed clothing and supplies, connected them with counsellors, organised complimentary therapy and play sessions and sourced equipment and put together furniture in readiness for when the people are eventually rehoused. All the money from this event will go directly to the Harrow Club, who in turn will share resources with Edward Woods Community Centre, other local groups and the wider movement within the community-led coalition Justice for Grenfell as they fight for the rights of the Grenfell survivors.
