The Kenya Trust is a charity registered in England 1105495 with the sole aim of supporting the work of The Salvation Army in Kenya. Improving conditions at Salvation Army schools, hostels and community centres and supporting the development of music ministry within The Salvation Army in Kenya.

Story

After nearly 34 years at Clerical Medical and HBOS it's time to move on. And instead of a leaving 'do' I'm raising funds to help rebuild the Irakuse Primary School in Western Province, Kenya . Replacing the current mud and sticks buildings will be seven modern classrooms. We also aim to provide a water tank, toilet facilities and much-needed teaching materials. Last year the Kenya Trust did a similar job for the school in Kibera, situated in the middle of the biggest slum in Africa, and it made such a difference to the lives of children who really need every help available.  The Trust works directly with the school so we can be sure the funds raised will be spent entirely as intended. For more info see http://www.thekenyatrust.org.uk/newsletterfeb2007.pdf

So if I've helped you at all or if you're just pleased to see me go, please dig deep. Everything you give, I will match so that your gift counts double.

Thank you to everyone who helped to smash the target. But I'm happy to keep on matching further donations so that we give the children of Irakuse the best possible start in life.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support me: the Kenya Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

But if you prefer to donate offline, please get in touch at HBOS.

Many thanks for your support. It’s really appreciated.
