Story
This 26th May 2018 a selection of 10 moderately active engineers will be taking on the three peaks challenge. The challenge involves reaching the summit of the tallest mountain in Scotland, England & Wales in under 24 hours. It is over 23 miles and 13 hours of walking, with a total of 11 hours of driving in between.
Due to scale of the challenge that is being undertaken, training has been suitably comprehensive and strict. Matt tried cardio for the first time and Tohid bought a new pair of boots.
The challenge begins on Saturday evening with Ben Nevis (1,345m). A 5 hour hike lays ahead that includes a descent during sunset, before an overnight 6 hour drive to Scafell Pike (978m). The 4 hour hike of Scafell Pike begins in darkness, before the challenge moves 5 hours south to North Wales. The final mountain, Snowdon (1,085m), will take a further 4 hours to complete, bringing the total time to 24 hours (and hopefully less!) after the challenge began.
Taking part in the challenge are:
- Ash Fulham
- Chris Pawley
- James Burt
- James Pritchard (Driver)
- Liam McAuley
- Marine Favre-Decloux
- Mark Denny
- Matt Dent
- Tohid Roozfarakh
- Tristan King
