The Queen Mary, University of London Foundation was established to help advance the work of Queen Mary and Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry by raising philanthropic income to support our major objectives and projects.

Story

After the pain and pleasure of last year's event, Geoff and I have signed up for the 2017 Prudential Ride London 100, cycling again to raise money for Barts Cancer Institute. The funds that we raise will go directly to help develop the next generation of cancer researchers at Barts Cancer Institute, with the ultimate aim that the research we perform, and the researchers we train, will mean that one day no one has to lose someone they love to cancer.

Since joining Barts Cancer Institute in 2004, I have witnessed first hand the fantastic work that an amazing group of people are doing to try and improve the way we diagnose and treat cancer. Alongside world leading research, we are also helping to train the next generation of cancer researchers; schoolchildren, undergraduates, MSc students, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers.

The transition from postdoc to independent researcher marks a critical stage, and support from the Barts Cancer Institute Charity "Bridge to the Future" scheme provides critical support for our Early Career Researchers who are taking the next steps to becoming independent cancer researchers. 100% of the funds we raise will go to help support these future leaders of cancer research. Please sponsor us whatever you can afford. Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
