Thank you for visiting the sponsorship page for Will Burr, Rory Penn and Nick Gray running, as the Grosvenor Team, in the 21st Marathon des Sables in April 2006 to raise funds for an SOS Children's Villages Nursery School in Malawi.

At a cost of £162 per square metre, the development cost for the school is £48,400.  The only way to raise this is by receiving sponsorship from as many of you as we can.  We therefore suggest, and hope, that you may want to sponsor an item below to help fund this much needed school.  Please choose an item, keep the cost in mind, and click on the 'Sponsor Us Now' link above or below.

 

This list is indicative only and far from exclusive.  If nothing takes your fancy, and you are more into bricks, we welcome brick donations.  At £1 a brick, you can sponsor as many as you want!

 

£20 -       Section of roof (galvanised corrugated iron sheet)

£25 -       Timber door

£30 -       Timber classroom table

£50 -       Window (steel frame with glass)

£80 -       Basin or Loo

£130 -     Wall (stabilised soil blocks)

£150 -     Concrete floor of a room

£225 -     Sewage system

£500 -     Kitchen units (including a fridge, cooker and sink)

£1,000 - Timber ceiling

£5,000 - Classroom

 

As you can see enough funds have now been raised to build the school.  However, the team are now continuing their fundraising for running the school at £12,800 per year for two years.
