Story
We will be raising money for The Mulberry Bush, a school near Oxford that provides care and education for children who have been excluded from mainstream education.
Many children at Mulberry bush suffer from severe emotional distress caused by violence, bereavement, inadequate care, emotional or physical abuse. The school provides an environment in which these children learn to trust and respect themselves and others, establish ordinary human relationships and begin to learn. By the time they leave, two thirds of children are ready to rejoin their communities, go to local schools and live a rewarding normal life.
Without the Mulberry Bush the future of such children would be extremely bleak. However, their work ensures that rather than become a burden and cost to society, these young people are able to make positive contributions to the worlds in which they live.
