Amina's personal story
I am passionate about giving children a fair chance at life as they are all born as citizens of the world and, we all have a part to play in making it safe with an abundance of opportunity!

I have always dreamed of embarking on a journey to make a difference for communities that have limited resources. These indigenous communities resonate with me as I have a parent from indigenous decent, who has lost many traditions and native tongue due to assimilation. This makes me appreciate the tribes around the world that are still in existence.

It is a privilege to be selected for Trek for Kids, 2021. I am very honored to be an ambassador for a great cause that help so many children's lives around the world.

The trek was planned to be in Vietnam although due to the pandemic all trekkers will be completing the trek in their home countries with companions. Therefore, I have chosen to trek with a few of my team from Medical Affairs :)

We will be trekking on Hadrian's Wall, The Lake District, UK with distance of 100 km and will take place from 06 June 2021. This trek will challenge me both physically and mentally to unleash a strength that will allow me to become a strong advocate of helping those that are suffering.

The target of £4,500 to be raised will be used for the following programmes:

- 50% supports the neonatal clinic in remote areas of Vietnam to provide healthcare infrastructure and train healthcare workers to support mothers and their new-born babies to be healthy.

- 50% supports STC locally in UK to help children growing up in POVERTY with basic home needs and education. Current statistic - 1 in 3 children are growing up in poverty.

100% MATCH from GSK of total money raised by all trekkers will support our signature programmes in Yemen, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo

NOTE: Donations will NOT contribute to the cost of the trek.

DONATE NOW to support helping children around the WORLD!

No DONATION is too small to MAKE a DIFFERENCE in children’s lives :)
