After completing my 100 km trek across Belgium in March, now is time to close this amazing adventure.

Trek for Kids has been an emotional rollercoaster: from the excitement of being selected to the sadness of not being able to travel to Vietnam and meet my fellow trekkers, through the happiness of trekking in sunny Belgium and joy to help Vietnamese children.

Reflecting on this unique experience, I’m incredibly grateful to:

1) The partnership between GSK and Save the Children, that have prepared, arranged and organised this wonderful Trek for Kids initiative despite the COVID-19 related challenges!

2) The colleagues, family and friends who walked with me. I was so fortunate to have these companions, building different ties that I would have not been able to do otherwise.

3) Last but not least, all the people who have supported me, be it through best wishes, involvement or donations. Each of you has given me the energy to do more and go outside of my comfort zone.

On behalf of the Vietnamese children, a massive THANK YOU!

Together with the other 39 GSK trekkers, we have raised so far more than £217.000, which will be matched by GSK. This means that local projects managed by Save the Children will receive more than €500.000 for the children in need!

Here’s a short video to explain where this money will go, i.e. continuing existing lifesaving projects in the northern foothills of Vietnam. Fantastic to see smiles of mothers and babies supported by Save the Children!
