Story
Knowing how fragile a young person's confidence can be without the added challenge of cancer treatment, we'd like to make a difference.
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a national charity that supports young people aged 8-24 to rebuild their confidence after cancer. Cancer recovery is as much about what happens after treatment. That's why when treatment ends, the Trust's work begins. For many young people, picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn't possible.
Through sailing and outdoor adventure trips, young people can be young people, rebuild their confidence to return to education or employment, and make new friends who understand their situation. They are supported long-term throughout the recovery process and have the opportunity to come back for annual trips, with the possibility of volunteering when they reach 18 and inspiring other young people like them.
