Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
In 2020, I was given the amazing opportunity to run the London Marathon in aid of the University of Cambridge Veterinary School Trust. Unfortunately the event was cancelled, and my place was transferred over to the 2021 event! I was however lucky enough to compete in the 2020 virtual event, for which you can read about in the post section below.
I am continuing to fund raise for CamVet for the 2021 event, as this helps me in the continuing pursuit of doing all the crazy sporting activities, and will be my first ever mass participation marathon! Having done the virtual event in 4h 14min, I hope to smash my PB by doing some actual training in the run up to the event on the first weekend in October.
CamVet is a small charitable trust that raises funds for the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital in Cambridge. Their goal is to fund essential equipment and facilities for diagnosing and treating animals referred to them, and additionally provides equipment to help teach veterinary students. As you may well know, I'm a bit mad about animals, and especially dogs, so this is a charity that I am very happy to support, especially as it helps in training the vets of the future who will look after our furry companions. Where you can see the impact of every donation that is made, and the impact that pets have on everyone's lives that inspire them to raise money for the charity.
I have friends whose pets have been ill, and have seen the misery, pain and uncertainty that long term disease has on both the little critter and the owner. By furthering the development of treatments and training of new vets, prevention, delay or pioneering treatment, we can help minimise the impact to the well-being of the creatures we share our lives with.
