TOFS offers support to people born with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF) and/or Oesophageal Atresia (OA). These are rare congenital malformaltions of the gullet and windpipe. Immediate neonatal surgery is a treatment, not a complete cure. We are UK-based and receive no public-sector support at all.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving
page.

Our son Tommy was born with a condition called tracheo-oesophageal fistula and oesophageal atresia, or tof for short.
Diagnosed shortly after his birth, this meant he could neither swallow or breathe on his own and had to have emergency surgery.
We have spent many months in and out of hospital, Tommy has had numerous operations and his condition still affects him every day.
Before his diagnosis, we, like many people, had never heard of tof, but it affects 1 in 3500 babies.

TOFs is a small charity which supports families of children, like Tommy, born with a tof.  Having a child with a medical condition, especially one which few people have heard of, can be a scary and lonely experience.
Through TOFs we have found not only useful advice and information, but have met other tof families who go through the same experiences and struggles we do.

I am running the London Marathon to raise money for TOFs to ensure they can continue to support other tof families, like ours.

I've got up to 13 miles so far and bloody hell it's hard! even for an elite athlete like me. In hindsight I wish there was a picking up peas with a toothpick option!   If you can spare a few quid after christmas, it's going to give me some motivation and will be very much appreciated to go towards my charity. I promise to put in the miles and try to get on TV with a cheesy face and a funny wave !!

Thanks

Guesty
