Story
Hi thanks for visiting my page.
I'm doing the Great North Run this year in order to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
In the picture is me when I was a nipper with my sister (who might kill me for posting this pic!) and my Auntie's guide dog at the time, Zola. My Auntie who is blind has had a number of guide dogs over about 30 years and as long as I can remember I've seen what these amazing animals can do giving the blind and partially sighted the independence to go out to work, socialise etc. anything most sighted people take for granted.
Recently through my Auntie's experiences I've heard about how difficult it an be now to get a dog, waiting on long waiting lists and working dogs months after they would normally have retired. This is why I believe this is such a good cause.
Guide Dogs for the Blind receives no Government funding whatsoever and relies entirely on voluntary donations and requires over £50million a year to continue, so anything you can sponsor me will make a difference (it cost's £10 per day to breed, train and care for each guide dog).
Please consider sponsoring my Great North Run to raise money for this worthy cause and thanks for taking the time to read this. Below is some info on how this web page works with regard to tax, security etc.
Cheers
Steve
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
