Story

As part of our mission and ministry we run a very busy community programme. Our foodbank serves people in our community who for whatever reason require help and rely on this service. We also, give out emergency food parcels, clothing vouchers and emergency gas and electric card top-ups for people who are in fuel poverty. At the moment once a month we operate a Community Family Food Hub and Well-being Day where we create a safe space for people and families to come and chat. Those that attend can choose food from our food store that best suits their situation, and clothes when available. We also want to start to offer a hot meal to those using this service. This is a much-needed service in our community and we help around 65+ families most of which have children of school age. The general feedback from school link workers is, this is really helping families who are struggling. We would like to operate this service more regularly but are held back by our kitchen and equipment. Therefore, we are currently fund raising in order to carry out this much needed work. The programme also includes a twice monthly Luncheon Club for those over 55 years of age, which is followed by various activities. There is also a weekly Parent & Toddler group and a weekly Coffee Morning.
