Christmas doesn’t mean much if you have no Mum or Dad, are not sure where your next meal will come from, or have no adult to care for you. Sadly this is the plight of too many children living in Alexandra Township in Johannesburg.
Gumboots (UK) is working with projects in the township to improve the life chances of some of South Africa’s poorest children. You can help us make this Christmas one they will remember by making a donation through Just Giving. These are some of the things your donation will go towards:
-Providing Christmas food parcels for child and granny headed households
-Treating 100 children to a Christmas outing to the movies
-Buying seedlings for the community food garden to provide fresh vegetables for 2011
-Funding a Christmas party for 200 pre-school children
The Gumboots Foundation is run completely by volunteers, so every penny you donate will help make a difference.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
