SafetyCurtain (safetycurtain.org.uk), formerly the International Performers' Aid Trust, supports struggling performers and creative practitioners outside of the UK. Our small grants help with basic living costs, medical bills, etc. We help keep the flame of culture flickering in dark times.

Story

To help a very, very worthy cause, I've decided to give up meat, including fish, for a whole 31 days (7 May-7June) as it was the most unbelievable thing I could do to convince you this is no easy meat, sorry, feat.

While we don't think much of ordering in pizza (pepperoni) or calling in for a kebab - OK, so I don't - there are people all over the world who cannot dream of such luxuries, or even how to feed their families.

But hunger doesn't stop them dreaming of becoming performers, bringing art, culture and entertainment to their communities. IPAT provides aid to make their dreams a reality.

You all know that a meal without meat is not a meal for me and that I consider salad merely a garnish, so please help me to help them make a difference.

As an extra incentive for you to dig deep, and for me to succeed, if I fail to complete this challenge I'll match all donations!

Thank you
