Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In September I am cycling 360 mies from Geneva to Milan over four days, in the process climbing 17,000ft. For me this is a supreme challenge. By taking on this challenge I am raising funds for vital cancer research.
I really appreciate all your support and thank you for your donation.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Hope Against Cancer is raising funds for cancer research in the University Hospitals of Leicester. It was set up 10 years ago and has already raised over £4 million which has helped fund many research trials locally. Hope has also opened a Centre of Excellence with the help of Cancer Research UK and helped fund a Cancer Research Nurse at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
As a result of efforts by Hope cancer rates in Leicestershire are already falling and we are attracting the some of the best minds and brains in cancer treatment and prevention. My involvement with Hope goes back to my wife Val having had first uterine and then breast cancer. Chemotherapy and eight operations later she is finally out of it, thanks to the excellent care she had from all the doctors, nurses and support staff in Leicestershire hospitals, NHS at its best. Supporting Hope is our way of not only putting resources back into cancer care but to thank the lovely people who took us through a difficult journey.
