Story

On Sunday May 10th, I’ll be solving The Times cryptic crosswords non-stop for 15 hours from 6:00am until 9:00pm. Please sponsor me and see if I can reach my goal of solving 2,000 clues in a day – I reckon that’s nearly 70 puzzles altogether, or just over 4 crosswords an hour. I’ll be downloading and printing out the crosswords from The Times’ website – and making sure they’re ones I haven’t seen before. Under Guinness world record rules, I’m allowed a break of 5 minutes every hour, so I’ll provide live updates on my progress and how spaced out I feel…
Charities are suffering financially during lockdown and St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham needs funds in order to do its vital work. It’s a local charity and one of the hospices which we raised money for in memory of our friend Charlie two years ago.
Please sponsor me, no matter how small the amount, so that St Christopher’s can continue its brilliant work. Let’s see if we can raise £1,000, which will pay for two full day’s care for one in-patient. Please feel free to share this.

About the charity

Every year we provide care and support to over 6,500 people across South East London, both at home and in the hospice. We passionately believe that everyone should have access to the best care at the end of their lives. We need to fundraise £16 million each year to continue our services
