Thank you for taking the time to visit my Growing a Goat page. I first encountered an issue affecting my walking in August 2018, which deteriorated until in April 2019, I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (AKA Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig disease for any baseball fans like me).

Having come to terms with this over the last 6 months, I have decided to do something constructive to fight back against this uncompromising condition which, today, has no cure.  My running isn't what it was and I can't get on a bike any more, let alone ride one so marathons and cycling events are out. I considered a well known organisation that is very active in November but MNDA is not supported by their fund raising.  So instead, I'm Growing a Goat(ee) which is kind of borrowing the idea. 

MND is not so common, thankfully affecting just 0.01% of people (in the UK). But, this also means it does not get so much air time in the fund raising stakes. Nevertheless there is active research into the disease that will be helped directly by any donation made on this page.
