Ar y 9^fed o Orffennaf, byddwn yn ymgeisio Sialens y Tri Copa er mwyn codi arian tuag at elusen Scope. Mae hwn yn brawf o gerdded mynydd a dygnwch ble'r her yw ceisio dringo'r tri mynydd uchaf ym Mhrydain (Ben Nevis [1,344m], Scafell Pike [978m] a'r Wyddfa [1,085m]) - i gyd o fewn 24 awr!

Mae gennym gysylltiad personol gyda'r gweithgaredd yma. Ym mis Rhagfyr 2002, fe wnaeth ffrind roi genedigaeth i efeilliaid (Erin a Malan). Fe'u gannwyd 14 wythnos yn gynnar ac yn pwyso ychydig dros 2 bwys. O ganlyniad i hyn mae gan Erin Barlys Serebral sy'n effeithio ei phedwar cymal (quadriplegia). Mae ei rheolaeth o'i phen a'i bongorff yn wan ac mai'n gaeth i gadair olwyn. Mae Erin yn hollol ymwybodol o'i hanabledd gan nad oes ganddi ddim anawsterau dysgu, er hynny mae'n gofidio ac yn teimlo'n rhwystredig os nad yw'n cael y cyfle i wireddu ei uchelgeisiau. Gyda chymorth a chefnogaeth elusennau fel Scope mae Erin yn gallu byw bywyd mor gyffredin â sydd bosib. Mae'n mynychu ysgol prif lif gyda'i chwaer ac mae'n mwynhau cymysgu gyda'i chyfoedion ble mai'n cael pob cyfle i gymryd rhan yn holl weithgareddau'r ysgol. Mae ganddi wastad wên ar ei gwyneb ac mai'n byw bywyd i'r eithaf.

On the 9^th July, we will be taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge to help raise funds for the charity Scope. This is a mountain endurance challenge where we will aim to climb the three highest mountains in the (Ben Nevis [1,344m], Scafell Pike [978m] and [1,085m]) - all within 24 hours!

We have a personal stake in this particular fundraising event. In December 2002 a friend gave birth to twin sisters (Erin and Malan). They were born 14 weeks premature weighing just over 2lbs. As a result of being premature, has Cerebral Palsy affecting all four limbs (quadriplegia). She has poor head and trunk control and is wheelchair bound. She is aware of her disabilities as she has no learning difficulties, however becomes upset and frustrated if she is not given the opportunity to realise her ambitions. It is through the help and support of charities like Scope that is able to lead as normal a life as possible. She attends mainstream school with her sister and enjoys mixing with her peers where she is given every opportunity to participate in all activities. She has always got a smile on her face and lives life to the full.
