We work in Oxfordshire's local communities to help people with mental health problems

Story

These are isolating, worrying times yet baking bread is a soothing, mindful activity for the baker and creating a loaf for a friend is a beautiful act of kindness. We want to promote connection in our communities by baking for people who deserve it most.

Throughout October (launching on World Mental Health Day) our lovely Gypsy Baker community plans to bake loaves of sourdough bread for family members, friends, colleagues or neighbours.

We will encourage donors to either 'pay it forward' as an act of kindness so that someone else in their community can recieve a loaf of fresh bread or donate in gratitude for their fresh bread delivery.

We hope this fundraising project will uplift, boost and nourish whilst raising funds for an important oxfordshire charity which promotes good mental health through the provision of high quality services and campaigning for positive change.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any one year.
Oxfordshire Mind helps over 30,000 people with mental health challenges
every year. Their services include housing, talking therapies, benefits advice, a confidential and free information line, courses (such as ‘practical ways to wellbeing’), physical activity programmes, volunteering opportunities, and they facilitate over 60 peer-support groups each week.

The Gypsy Baker Community is proud to support Oxfordshire Mind.
