Peaky Wheelers · 27 August 2021

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

On the 27th August 2021, 3 girls (Hannah, Harriet and Katie- aka the "Peaky Wheelers") are cycling 100 miles and climbing the highest mountain in Wales in 1 day for men's mental health. 🚲🏔🚲

Starting in Chester, the "Peaky Wheelers" will cycle 60 miles to Snowdonia where they will take on the 3560ft climb to the top of Snowdon. They will then decend and continue the further 40 miles cycle to Abersoch, North Wales.

They will be supported by the original Peaky founders Amelia and Annabel who will be joining them in climbing Snowdon,

Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives and 75% of all UK suicides are male. From witnessing men in their lives struggle with their mental health, often feeling like they need to in silence given the high levels of shame and negative stigma, the "Peaky Wheelers" feel that this needs to change. They aim to raise awareness and help empower both men and woman to talk about and get support for their mental health before the point of crisis.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Our goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men. CALM PROVIDES A free and anonymous helpline 0800 58 58 58 and webchat (5pm-12am daily) staffed by trained professionals. Bereavement support. A website www.theCALMzone.net with inspiring content. Campaigns tackling stereotypes of masculinity, suicide and mental health. Help us save lives

Any donation big or small would be hugely appreciated by all the team x 🚲🏔🚲
