Story

On the 2nd July 2022, myself (William O'Shea) and my great mate, Darren Reeves will be running the 60km from Great Ormond Street Hospital to Tunbridge Wells Hospital. Joining us along the way will be six of our friends and family to run some of the distance alongside us. Since the passing of Thomas on the 19th August 2019, many friends and our family have kept us going. We are so lucky to have that support

As Thomas’s Daddy, I felt completely helpless in my ability to help or protect my son. And in those hours and days of need I relied on the people of GOSH and NNU TWells to carry that burden, to do their best for my poorly little boy. They did so much more. From the moment Thomas was born, he knew he was loved. Not only by my amazing fiancé, but also by the staff in the NNU in TWells. On his transfer to GOSH, Thomas was treated like family by being provided the very best care in the world but also by the love and compassion both he and we were shown.

In the two years since his passing, much has changed in the world for our hospitals and indeed for everyone due to the COVID pandemic, and fundraising has been hit hard. If you can give a small donation then that would be amazing.

At GOSH, money raised will go into the Thomas O'Shea Brighter Future Fund, where money is allocated to pay for parent accommodation for the most poorly of children.

For the Neonatal Unit in Tunbridge Wells, funds will go directly into the units ‘wish list tree’ for items that the Unit is in need of.

These two places are in such need of support and funding for so many reasons and although Thomas lost his fight for life, there are so many more little ones still with us because of GOSH, and locally to us, the NNU TWells. I am still Thomas’s Daddy, and those two hospitals are still his home. Please if you can support, thank you
