London Landmarks Half Marathon 2019 · 24 March 2019 ·
A group of teachers from Harris Academy Bermondsey will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in March to raise money for Refuge. All of the teachers involved will be training hard through the grueling winter to make it through the 13 miles of running.
As an all-girls school, we have a particular focus on the safety of girls within our community. The staff and students of Harris Academy Bermondsey are looking forward to a series of fundraising events which we hope can provide much needed financial support for this worthy cause.
One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.
By kindly sponsoring us today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence.
Thank you.
