I'm running the Hackney Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That's one dad, partner, brother, son, grandad, uncle or mate. Last year, that became a reality for me when my dad was diagnosed himself. We were relatively lucky, the cancer was found quickly and my dad underwent surgery in the amazing Royal Marsden at the end of last year. There are many hurdles still to overcome but I have learnt that we can't take things for granted. I'm therefore raising money to raise awareness, help fund lifesaving research and support the men and their families affected by prostate cancer.
