Story
If someone told me this time last year I'd be signing up for a half marathon I would have said they were crazy... but here we are.
I'm running the Hackney Half Marathon for my mam Kay, who was diagnosed with early-onset dementia in her late 40's, and sadly passed away 10 years later in January 2020. She was and still is so loved, and I miss her every day. This disease is cruel, and watching someone you love suffer for 10 years is heartbreaking. Sadly, this suffering is experienced by many - Alzheimer's and Dementia is the leading causes of death in the UK, and currently, there is no cure.
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK's leading dementia charity that are transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day there is a cure, the charity aims to create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
I would be extremely grateful if you can donate to help this amazing charity by sponsoring my Hackney Half Marathon. Thank you so much for your support.
