Hairmyres Hospital Walks John O’Groats to Land’s End ! · 1 July 2020

Lifesavers Scotland is a non-profit making Charity run completely by volunteers who donate their time to help provide the service. During this challenging time, we are providing a 24 hours service to cover the transport needs of NHS Hospitals. Delivering critical medical supplies, COVID samples and patient transport.

Story

NHS Lanarkshire have received numerous donations during the COVID period. Lifesavers Scotland have provided an invaluable service during the pandemic. Delivering much required samples between sites, assisting with the delivery of equipment for essential patient care as well as many other tasks.

UHH are creating a sponsored walking challenge to help raise funds for Lifesavers Scotland. We are a very competitive bunch at Hairmyres and since COVID has allowed us all to find our inner hill walker we are taking on a challenge which can bring this all together.

We have set ourselves a challenge to walk the virtual route of Land's End to John O'Groats throughout the month of July. We have set up a walking challenge within the World Walking app and have split ourselves into 5 teams of 5 individuals. Teams are the Lunch Clubbers, Flow Fighters, Amazing Aces, Clarkston Crew and Hairmyres Berries.

Each team will aim to walk the entire route of Land's End to John O'Groats from the 6th July – 14th August.

All donations would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to helping give back to Lifesavers Scotland for their invaluable support.

Many Thanks,
Hairmyres Hospital Team.
