Asalamu'alaykum Warahamtullahi Wabarakatuhu,

I pray everyone is enjoying the beautiful month of Ramadhan at home and in good health insha'allah. 

This Ramadan, I am working with Islamic Relief to provide Syrian widows and orphaned children living in refugee camps with a lifechanging, new fresh start at life.

Since the war broke out in Syria 9 years ago, millions of Syrians have been made refugees with an estimated 1.5 million of them living in refugee camps in Lebanon.

Islamic Relief is working in Lebanon, they aim to house widows and their orphaned children as a part of an integrated project. Not only are widows and their children offered a safe and secure shelter, but they are also provided with livelihood opportunities, education, food, water, healthcare, psychosocial support and a supported community environment for more substantial healing following the unimaginable circumstances faced by the Syrian families.

Each family is lifted out of the poor living conditions of camps and given the chance of a new life with their own apartment space, training and support to earn a living, as well as a new life for children to heal and grow.

I will be participating in the 2.6 challenge and be completing a 26 mile trek whilst fasting on the 26th Ramadhan. My goal is to raise £2600 which can help support a family for a WHOLE YEAR!

This project is zakat, sadaqah and lillah eligible.

The Prophet Muhammed PBUH tells us; "Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity."
