6 Riders, 130 Miles! Halesowen Hero's are yet again taking to the streets to raise funds for West Mercia Women’s Aid. Starting from Halesowen, ending in Weston Super Mare, riding through Cheddar Gorge and up the infamous Mendip Hills. This Year we hope to raise over £2000 for WMWA.
West Mercia Women’s Aid is a charitable organisation that
strives to raise awareness of the reality and the impact of Domestic abuse. We
are an organisation that supports mainly Women and children through the effects
of domestic abuse, by providing a space to receive emotional support and
guidance and when needed, a safe space to live. When women and Children flee to
our refuges, sometimes this can be with literally the clothes on their backs.
So many families have to leave behind their home comforts and keepsakes, it’s
our mission to provide not only a safe space for them, but one that feels like
a home. Currently our Worcestershire refuge is in a big need of a glow up, it’s
not looking as homely and loved as we would like for our residents. So any
money raised by the Halesowen Heroes will be so gratefully spent making the
refuge feel more homely and welcoming to the women and children who flee here
for their safety.
