A team from the
University's of Nottingham's Catholic Community are running the
Morrisons Great Birmingham Run half-marathon on
18th October 2015 to
raise money for Emmanuel House. It is a
local Nottingham charity which is supported

With no statutory funding, Emmanuel House relies on donations from individuals, schools, fundraising and businesses.

Emmanuel House, founded in faith in 1976, welcomes between 60-90 visitors each weekday and 30-50 on weekends. They provide basic needs for homeless, vulnerable or isolated adults in and around Nottingham.
The
Day Centr
e, the one of its kind in Nottingham, is open 365 days a year and provides additional support services, trained professionals and a core programme of social activities, encouraging positive change and empowerment. They
emphasise on practicalities as well as offering an environment without judgement for those in need.The
Winter Shelter runs between the winter months of November to March
providing approximately 22 beds per night to rough-sleeping individuals. Emmanuel House staff and volunteers manages the Shelter, ensuring the urgent needs of rough sleepers are met as quickly as possible. Some temporary accommodation is provided in local church halls.
