Story
Like so many people, I was supposed to be doing this in 2020, but Covid had other ideas!
I ran this half in 2018 and had a blast, this time I was hoping to smash loads of time off my finish time as I've lost a substantial amount of weight since then and generally improved my running. However, also like many other people, my running mojo has been somewhat intermittent throughout this past 18mths and I decided quite late not to defer to next year and actually do it in 2021!
But, let's face it, dementia doesn't give a fig about lockdown or Covid, or anything else so I am going for it! If I can help raise money for Alzheimer's Society to support them in the fight against dementia, it will be well worth every single km I run, erm, or jog / walk / crawl!! Plus, I'm also doing this to support my best friend so she can get the support she needs from Alzheimer's Society while she supports her Mum.
Well, I did it, 13.1 miles in 2.5hrs! A heartfelt thank you from me, for any money donated by my wonderful friends and family x
