I'm not a runner (not even to run for a train/bus!) but felt inspired after watching James and Lisa take part in the Southampton Half Marathon earlier this year. 

My eldest, Abi (now 16), was born premature at 28 weeks weighing 2Ib 3oz (1Kg). Abi spent 2 months in Buscot (Special Care Baby Unit at Royal Berkshire Hospital) until she was ready to come home. I'd like to take this opportunity to give something back and say thank you whilst setting a personal challenge to complete a half marathon.  

Every little helps and any donations will make a huge difference in providing Buscot Ward with new equipment, refurbished facilities, staff training, emotional support for parents and much more along with gifts for sick and premature babies.

I'm not doing it alone. James H will be running his 2nd half marathon this year, James K will be running his first and Lisa (keen runner, aka The Coach) is helping us with training and will be taking part.

**UPDATE** 

Sadly the Maidenhead Half Marathon was cancelled as the event organisers went into administration so we booked the Windsor Half Marathon which was then cancelled due to the passing of the Queen. 

Due to the sponsorship received and training put in over the Summer James H, James K & Lisa ran a Half Marathon in Burghfield on 25th Sept completing it in 2:12 (with Anna and I supporting on bikes!). Training will continue ready to run 2 Half Marathons next year (dates TBC). Thank you again for the sponsorship and support. Look forward to joining the Team in my first Half Marathon in 2023!    

** UPDATE 2023 **

Following the above we've now signed up for the Southampton Running Festival 30th July and our entry into the Window HM last year was carried over to 24th September 2023. Fingers crossed they both go ahead as planned 😊

** FINAL UPDATE **

30th July Southampton HM. Anna completed the 10K and Tom joined us for the Half Marathon with the results as Anna (1:00) James K (1:49) Lisa (1:58) James, Tom & Angela (2:27). 6 loops with a steep hill was challenging!

24th Sept Windsor HM. Great scenic route ran together as a team with a chip time of 2:21 (and a PB for Angela, couldn't have done without the Teams support!) lovely to have the support and family there to cheer us along and at the finish line.
