Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The recent factory building collapse in Bangladesh is one of the worst industrial accidents seen in history. The death toll has reached 1,000 and counting. People are left without fathers, sons, sisters, brother – one picture reportedly showed a husband and wife die in each other’s arms.
The pictures and reports are heartbreaking – but there is hope to come from this tragedy. One woman was pulled from the rubble after 17 days, while other survivors are being treated for injuries. And this is where we can help.
The BARC (formerly Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee) are - like many other charities – supporting the relief efforts below, but also have the BRAC’s Limb and Brace Centres, which is preparing to provide treatment and counselling to amputee patients as well as their families to smooth transition to life with a prostheses.
This will make a big difference to the lives of those who have been dealt with such a cruel blow. So many people are doing their bit to support the charity, such as donating the value of their ‘Primarni’ wardrobe, so I’ve decided to hold a blog sale to raise money too.
