48 hour FRIB Endurance Event · 26 August 2016

Hamble Lifeboat is an independent Lifeboat Service which has been saving lives since 1968. Based in Hamble, we operate in the central Solent, Southampton water and Rivers Hamble, Test and Itchen. We respond to over 100 Incidents per year. Your donations enable us to keep saving lives.

Story

Using a 3.75m FoldingRIB powered by a 20hp Suzuki, a team of helmsmen will complete a 48 hour non-stop endurance route around the Solent in the area of operation of Hamble Lifeboat. The team will complete shifts of 1-2 hours and transfer will take place afloat and underway to ensure the continuous nature of the challenge.

Hamble Lifeboat are looking to purchase a 2.75m FRIB powered by a 6HP Suzuki outboard as a Shallow Water Rescue Craft to enhance their exisiting Search and Rescue Operations. This event will showcase the FRIB as a durable small craft and the reliability and power of Suzuki.

Your donations will go to Hamble Lifeboat, an independent Lifeboat covering the Central Solent, Southampton Water and associated rivers Test, Itchen and Hamble. Hamble Lifeboat is run entirely by volunteers and requires generous donations to continue to provide this necessary rescue service saving lives at sea. This is one of the busiest waterways in the UK which makes the challenge even more interesting!

Thank you in advance for your help.
