Story

The H & R branch of the MNDA has launched an emergency appeal for donations to maintain their vital support to people with MND, a terminal illness.

Local people affected turn to the group for advice, face to face meetings and importantly granst to help with quality of life.

With the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic meaning many fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled the group are looking at other ways to try and maintain local support for people with this devastating illness.

MND is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease which affects the brain and spinal column. It attacks the nerves that control movement and eventually leaves the person unable to move, speak, or breath. It kills a third of people within a year of diagnosis and half within two years.
