Story
Merry Christmas and thank you for visiting our Just giving Page!
On Sunday 8th December 2019, Hamish & Matthew are running the London Santa Dash for Myeloma UK. The boys have been training up for the most festive run of their lives, and hope to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity. Myeloma UK receives zero funding from the UK government, so it's all up to fundraising to make a difference, so please help us smash our fundraising target!
Myeloma is a blood cancer, which is currently terminal (incurable), arising from plasma cells. At any one time there are around 17,500 people living with myeloma in the UK. It accounts for 15% of blood cancers, and 2% of all cancers. Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma.
In 2006, Hamish lost his Granny to Myeloma. It was a fierce fight, and Myeloma UK were there by our sides throughout and since. We're running in her memory, and to help save lives.
Myeloma UK helps myeloma patients, their family and carers, by using your donations to develop new approaches to myeloma treatment through their biomedical research programme, which includes translational research projects and clinical trials. They also use our Health Services Research Programme and patient advocacy to get patients the highest quality of care and access to the best treatments.
Myeloma UK continually strive to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education and raising awareness of myeloma.
Please Donate and support this tirelessly working charity to help others round the UK. Thank you.
