Hampton to Guernsey Virtual Challenge · 19 February 2021

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

UPDATE: On Sunday 13th June 2021, in the glorious Bushy Park in Hampton, I completed the 270km from Hampton to Guernsey.

And tonight, Monday 21st June 2021 we have reached our target of £5000!

Thank you!

Being unable to see parents for over a year now is bad enough but when my Mum was diagnosed with incurable Pancreatic Cancer at the end of last year, it was extra tough to be unable to visit her in the Island of Guernsey.

So, feeling a little powerless, I decided I would run to Guernsey 'virtually' to while-away the time, give Mum a boost and raise money for this great cause.

My house to Mum & Dad's house is exactly 168 miles (270 km), the aim is to complete 18km per week which will mean 'getting to Guernsey' in about 100 days (current estimate 14th June 2021).

Pancreatic Cancer UK is supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
