Next April I will be 40 (ugh!l) which feels like a very appropriate life juncture for a big challenge.   Signing up for October's Virtual London Marathon with Amnesty International UK has allowed me to bring two passions together- exercising outdoors and human rights. 

An achilles injury means I will be completing the marathon at a somewhat slower pace than originally planned 🤦🏻‍♀️, but I am delighted that I will now have the wonderful Isak and David, and my lovely old friend Simon joining me for different legs of the journey. ❤❤❤

I am excited to have the opportunity to be raising money for a cause very close to my heart.  Since the start of the pandemic seventeen months ago, I have been more concerned than ever at the systematic eroding of human rights at home and overseas. 

Money raised for Amnesty goes towards investigating and exposing abuses, campaigning to protect human rights, mobilising people to take action in defence of human rights, and educating people and communities about their rights and how to claim them.  

It is for these reasons and many more that I will be putting on my walking boots and heading out at midnight on Sunday 3rd October for a 26.2 mile adventure.
