Thanks for visiting my page! In 2020 and, as part of my ongoing work for the Oxford Charity Committee at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, I decided to dedicate my (then) latest running challenge (Manchester Marathon) to raising money for Emmaus Oxford!

By March 2020, I had completed all my training and hit my £1,000 fundraising target so all that was left was to run the marathon. But alas, Covid-19 brought the world to a halt and I was left to jog all 26.2 miles by myself around Oxford (my mum made me a medal!).

Manchester marathon was delayed along with several other running events that I had planned to do and I have now ended up with a slightly mammoth running/swimming challenge over this summer and autumn:

- The Thames Lock to Lock 10k swim - 25 July 2021
- Richmond Marathon - 11/12 September 2021 (date TBC)
- London Marathon - 3 October 2021
- Manchester Marathon 10 October 2021

I would like to dedicate all of these events to raising a bit more money for Emmaus - as with a lot of charities, lockdown has been a difficult time and they have still managed to do some amazing work in assisting homeless individuals with finding permanent accommodation over this time.

Emmaus Oxford - what they do:

Emmaus Oxford is a homelessness charity offering active support to formerly homeless people and those at risk of homelessness.

They offer a home to 28 individuals known as "companions" as well as meaningful work in their social enterprises. Each person has their own room in their accommodation in Cowley, Oxford. People can stay for as long as they wish and are offered opportunities to acquire skills as well as support when they are ready to move on.
