I have decided to make a positive start to 2014 and sign up for the Liverpool 1/2 Marathon to raise money for Freshfields Animal Rescue. People who know me well will know about my love for animals. Coming from a really small family we have always made up for it with a home full of pets! Many of my family pets have been rescue animals from Freshfields, including Amy (the dog in my picture). When we first met Amy she was an abandoned puppy who lived on the streets and ate out of bins, she was severely under weight and had a really bad stomach infection. The staff at Freshfields took her in at her time of need and nursed her back to health so we could take her home to begin her new life with us. Freshfields animal rescue is a non profit making charity caring for abandoned, abused and unwanted animals. The amazing work they do provides animals with food, medication and some TLC at their times of need. I want to give something back to Freshfields as a thankyou for the amazing dogs and cats my family and I have had the pleasure of having in our home.
