On Saturday 16th June I, along with 12 work colleagues, rowed in the Brindleyplace Dragonboat Festival on a course that ran from Pitcher & Piano at The Water's Edge to the finishing post at the NIA.

All in aid of a good cause, the competition was to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital - in particular the Cancer Unit - to help mark the hospital's 150th anniversary.

I hope you agree that it's an amazing cause. Birmingham Children's Hospital treats thousands of sick children every year and aims to make a real difference to the children and their families.

Birmingham Children's Hospital is one of the leading paediatric centres in the country, with international research into childhood cancers along with many other illnesses. 

The oncology ward aims to put children suffering with cancer at ease by having a big activities and play room, toys and games and computers. They also want the children to feel safe and happy and so parents and families can stay with children 24/7, sleeping either on fold out beds at the hospital with their child or at the near-by 'Ronald Macdonald House'. 

We had a brilliant day racing some of the 20 other teams such as The Brindleyplace Builders, Deutche Bank and a team from the Bullring and hope to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause. 

If you can only give £1 that's still £1 more to this great hospital which doesn't only treat kids from Birmingham but all over the UK.

Anything that you'd be able to donate would be greatly appreciated by myself and of course the children on the oncology ward.
