The 1.2 challenge is a fun and simple walking challenge to walk an extra 1.2 miles every day for 30 days. This will help boost participants physical & mental well-being. Funds raised by the challenge will ensure we can be there for the 1.2% with OCD.

Story

During the coronavirus pandemic, mental health is sharply on the rise and I want to help raise awareness about this debilitating condition that I have suffered for many years.

What is OCD?

'Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health disorder that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and occurs when a person gets caught in a cycle of obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that trigger intensely distressing feelings'

For an OCD sufferer, the thoughts, images or urges can be petrifying making you feel isolated, alone, frightened and withdrawn. This mental health condition often attaches itself to your greatest fear and feeds off of it.

Around 1.2% of the UK population are said to be affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. So, in support of those people, I am going to walk 1.2 miles every day for the next 30 days (till 7th October 2020)

Please dig deep and donate what ever you can as it would mean the world to me and others who have also suffered greatly. Thank you :) x
