I am a Paramedic currently working with EEAST. Providing frontline care is difficult at the best of times and is proving increasingly difficult throughout the COVID-19 outbreak. I personally, have been very lucky and remained symptom free so far (touch wood), but many of my colleagues have not been so lucky. 

The work and effort my colleagues put into providing excellent patient care is outstanding and I could not be prouder to work for the NHS during this time. Many of my colleagues are having to isolate and shield from frontline work due to pre-diagnosed heath conditions or due to them showing symptoms of the virus and this is having a massive impact on their mental health and well-being. 

I am looking to raise money in support of my colleagues to offer the support and wellbeing services they require to help get them through this difficult time. My aim is to raise money to not only support frontline staff, but also support staff who often go unnoticed as they are not in patient facing roles, such as call takers, dispatchers, admin staff and everyone else providing vital roles to keep the service going. 

After some consideration to what I would like the money raised to be for, I thought it would be an excellent idea to use the donations to support staff and boost morale by providing team-building exercises and give staff something to look forward too after these difficult and challenging times. This will help to encourage staff in their roles and remind them of the amazing job they are doing in this big green family!

As I said before, I am lucky to have not yet displayed any symptoms; but I do however have colleagues who have, colleagues who are spending countless weeks at home to protect themselves and others who have sadly lost their lives to COVID-19. 

If you can support this great cause, I would be truly grateful and any amount small or large will be massively appreciated by all staff at EEAST.
