Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 2nd September 2018, I will be running my first half marathon in Bedford in aid of the Down's Syndrome Association. This is a topic close to my heart from growing up with my cousin, Emma, who is also Down's.
Around one in every 1,000 babies born in the UK will have Down's syndrome, and there are approximately 40,000 people in the UK with the condition. People with Down's syndrome are not ill or suffering; they just take a bit longer to learn every day tasks that we might take for granted. The Down's Syndrome Association's aim is to help these people live full and rewarding lives.
Whenever I see Emma she always has a smile on her face and I'm so proud of her! She is one of the loveliest people I know and I take my hat off to my Auntie and Uncle because I know it couldn't have been easy for them.
The 2nd September will also mark Emma's 27th birthday, so supporting this charity on this day was a no-brainer for me! When I told her I was running on her birthday she said "that makes me happy". Hearing that makes me even more determined!
If you could spare a minute to donate towards such an amazing organisation, then it would mean the absolute world!
Thank you!
