Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know I had Lucas prematurely at 29+4 in November 2021. He was born in Coventry hospital then moved to Kettering where we spent just over a week. Kettering hospital have parents rooms where you book in and stay in these rooms on the ward so that you can be involved as much as possible in your baby’s cares. Having the chance to be so close to Lucas when he was so tiny and fragile, being able to come and change his tiny nappy at 2am, sit by the incubator and express my milk at 4am made me feel like I was doing all I could for him!
So when we got moved back to Northampton hospital and to Gosset ward it hit me like a tonne of bricks that there wasn’t any parent rooms and I couldn’t stay with him and be just down the corridor. The heartache and tears having to leave him in his incubator every night still haunts me now, the guilt!
This is why it is so important to get the parent rooms built for future parents who have to endure a neonatal stay!
If you could donate anything it would be greatly appreciated. The craziest fundraising I’ve done so far but if it helps raise them funds, I’m game!
Thank you for taking your time to read my story
