I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October for Abortion Support Network (ASN). ASN helps pregnant people in Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Malta and Gibraltar who need to travel to access a safe and legal abortion. They provide information, financial assistance and accommodation in volunteers' homes. The cost of this ranges from £400 to £2,000 or more depending on circumstance and stage of pregnancy.

ASN is an organisation that literally moves people across borders to access the reproductive healthcare that they need. As a UK citizen living in Germany, and as someone currently undergoing fertility treatments, I am acutely conscious of the privilege I have both to travel freely and to receive generous state support for my reproductive choices. In an ideal world, all choices would be supported equally – unfortunately, we don't live in that world. Until we do, please join me in supporting the valuable work that ASN does.
