Story
Training for the big event has commenced and I can confirm this will be one of the hardest yet most rewarding things I will ever do!
I have chosen to donate and funds I raise to Dynamic Wrexham.
Dynamic is a Wrexham based charity and a unique resource that provides out of school activities for children and young people with special needs. The children have a range of disabilities from physical, intellectual or sensory impairments and emotional problems, to life limiting illnesses. It is the only charity in the region that offers this unique service.
The aim is to provide a lively, safe and just environment in which children and young people with special needs, their carers, families and friends can benefit from an enhanced quality of life and the young people be empowered to help themselves.
It currently supports over 100 youngsters by holding 7 weekly after school groups, Club 19 – 25 and a Saturday drop-in group, activities during the school holidays and a major Summer programme.
I am doing the event in memory of my cousin Lucy Pritchard, she used the service of Dynamic for many years until she sadly passed away in October 2010 at the age of 22.
Her life was greatly enhanced by the support and services Dynamic offered to her over the years.
I hope you can support me in my journey, by donating to this worthwhile and invaluable charity, so they can continue supporting the community just as they did for Lucy and her family.
You can find more details about Dynamic on their website http://www.dynamicwrexham.com/
Michelle Hounslow is accompanying me on this ride and she is doing this for Help for Heroes. Another vital charity. You can see more about her story on her page http://www.justgiving.com/Michelle-Hounslow
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
