Kilimanjaro Trek 2023 - Amnesty International UK · 27 August 2023 to 6 September 2023 ·

A team of students at the University of Cardiff will be raising money for Amnesty International and preparing to trek Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, in 2023.

Story

Hi I'm Hannah, I'm currently studying Law at Swansea University but figured that wasn't enough of a challenge... So I've decided to trek up Kilimanjaro in August 2023, the world's highest freestanding mountain!

I'm raising money for Amnesty International UK, a human rights charity who stand up for justice and freedom across the world. Just one of the issues Amnesty are taking action towards are women's rights in Afghanistan. Following the atrocities of the Taliban's takeover in 2021, reports show surges in child marriage, torture and arbitrary detention of those who try to flee, with women's rights being second to none. Funding their work is a step forward to getting these women legal aid and vital support in such dark times. Amnesty also support a range of causes in the UK such as human rights and protesting rights.

As I've only given myself just under 6 months to raise the funds, and because I'm very passionate about Amnesty's work; I'm donating a large amount myself, on top of other fees for the challenge that I'm subsidising.

Please help me by donating or sharing my page. Any help you can give would be immensely appreciated :)
