Story
Dear all,
We hope we have been able to thank the majority of you individually by now but for those we haven’t yet, we just wanted to say a final heartfelt thank you for all your support & generosity. Together we raised the fantastic sum of over £7000 (with gift aid included) for Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust which is just amazing so thank you!
The day itself proved to contain everything you’re promised….excitement, wonderful support from the lined streets, music & London at its best with a few surprises thrown in too (like the rain, unexpected cramps & pretty harsh blisters!) but all rounded off with elation at finishing together, with our official time registering at 5hrs 15 which we were more than happy with!
Please no need to reply to this at all - just a final thank you from us both. Your generous support absolutely motivated us to keep putting one foot in front of the other!

So as most of you know, this time last year Sam & I were thrown a curveball to our New Year with my breast cancer diagnosis. Mercifully after two surgeries, chemotherapy & radiotherapy finishing in October, I am medically deemed “cancer free” & so very much consider myself one of the lucky ones….I fully appreciate depending on the stage at diagnosis, not everyone is given the opportunity to treat it.
So this New Year I have decided to take on a challenge of my own choosing! My good friend Charlotte Sisson, like many others, has supported me & the family throughout last year, but also, as my running buddy, helped me to maintain the occasional run during chemo which definitely boosted morale. She also inspired me to take on this challenge having done it herself for the first time in 2021 & so together we are running the London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April!
There are so many vital & worthy causes out there but we have decided to run in aid of the Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust. My motivation for choosing this charity is knowing how utterly scared & overwhelmed I first felt on hearing the diagnosis of cancer, I can’t imagine how it must feel to a young child and their family to hear the news.
So to run knowing we are raising some money to help support such children in their time of need will be the push we need to get us over the finish line. Supporting a local smaller charity also allows our contribution to make a bigger difference and gets to the people that really need it.
We appreciate times are testing at the moment but any small donation you may be able to offer would be truly gratefully received.
